Place the futon pieces that came with the futon to check that nothing is missing or damaged before beginning the assembly. Make sure all hardware parts are included. Find four pins, four rollers and four clips inside the included pieces. Next, look for the back of the futon. Look to find the holes that are drilled on each side of the backrest. Two of these holes will be closer to each other and another hole will be in the lower part of the face. The lower hole is where the side of the futon seat connects.

The rollers have a round lid and a slightly larger bottom. The bottom of each roller will be placed against the wood with a pin inserted through the top of the roller. The pin then extends through the hole and into the back of the futon. On the opposite side, a washer is placed on this bolt with a clip. Push the clip through the hole to secure it. This has to be done for each of the four rollers.
