Kids platform beds is a bed that sits on top of a taller frame. If you want to build a toddler platform bed, you can do it easily with a few pieces of furniture-grade hardwood, but you must keep safety in mind. You cannot make platform bed high enough that a child would struggle to get in or would be hurt if he fell out.

Measure the length and width of the mattress for your baby bed with a tape measure. This gives you the dimensions of your kids platform beds frame. Cut two pieces of 1-inch thick-by-24-inch-wide hardwood boards to the required length with a miter saw or table saw. These boards are sideboards of the platform bed. This corresponds to the thickness of the boards. These two boards are the headboard and footboard of the bed platform.
Place the sideboards on their 1-inch sides and then place the headboard and footboard of its 1-inch sides. Line the shorter boards up at the ends of the boards. Countersink the screws slightly to ensure that your child can not be captured on the screws. Cut half-inch-thick piece of furniture-grade plywood to the dimensions obtained in step 1, and then place the plywood on top of the bed frame. This creates kids platform beds for the mattress to rest upon.
Drill evenly spaced 1/4-inch hole in each corner and approximately every 12 inches down the sides. Place the holes half-inch inward from the edges of the plywood. Drive 1/4-inch-diameter-by-2-inch long wood screws if holes in the plywood and into the design. Stain or paint the backdrop to the desired color and wait for the paint or stain to dry before moving on. Place the kids mattress on plywood top.
